Bright ideas for bowed strings.

What are Stringlights Music™ magnets?

Stringlights Music™ magnets are a fingerboard map for string players. Every white dot represents a half step — exactly the way a piano shows every key — but designed for the violin, viola, cello, and bass fingerboard.

They have a dry-erase surface, so students and teachers can fill in pitches, mark patterns, build scale and chord maps, and wipe the board clean to start again. They stick to any magnetic surface: whiteboards, music stands, tin lids, and more.

Use them to see your fingerboard, not just feel it.

Develop fingerboard fluency, one half-step at a time.

Two ways to work

•  Work in color: fill in the pitches you want to highlight against the full chromatic map

•  Work in black & white: black out the pitches you don't need — only key notes stay visible

What you can do with Stringlights Music™ magnets

•  Build a key signature map — see exactly which pitches belong in any key

•  Create scale degree and chord/arpeggio maps — color-code root, 3rd, 5th, and 7th

•  Study finger patterns and position work — connect Stringlights Music™ magnets to see hand frames shift

•  Practice pitch precision — fill in target notes across all four strings

•  Use as a reference while you play — keep a marked map on your stand

•  Run dictation and ear training — listen , find it, fill it in

•  Play games — Bingo, Quick Draw, Tic Toc Scroll, Pop a Pattern, String Spelling, and more

•  Connect to staff notation — draw the staff on the tin lid and link fingerboard to page
